Under the general supervision of the director, the manager is responsible for the daily management of the department. This includes, but is not limited to operational, financial, clinical, performance improvement, program development, and customer relations and patient care outcomes. The manager is the primary resource person for staff. Responsibilities also include collaboration with other departments of the Hospital to assure development, promotion and maintenance of quality programs and services. Education required is a Bachelor's degree (B. S.) in an engineering field (i.e. electrical, mechanical) from a four-year college or university and three years experience; or ten years related experience and/or training. Management training is desirable. Licensure required: Valid New Hampshire Driver's license. Driving record from Department of Motor Vehicles, and proof of insurance coverage, which complies with organization and departmental Driving Policy. Experience required is 4 years in field with 2 years progressive supervisory experience. Demonstrated ability to effectively lead a team as well as be a team member. Must be familiar with federal, state and local codes and standards including but not limited to DNV, OSHA, EPA and building codes. Responsibilities include recruiting, retaining and developing staff and managing performance; participating in establishing and monitoring annual department productivity, quality, fiscal goals, and staffing; managing departmental core processes; responsible for customer relations and customer service initiatives; acting as a conduit for department and organizational communication among staff and others; leading department and interdepartmental teams; participating in and supporting departmental and organizational change; ensuring compliance with State, Local, Federal regulatory requirements; taking responsibility for individual performance goals; meeting all departmental, professional and technical requirements. Physical and work requirements include lifting, carrying or pushing/pulling weights up to 50 pounds occasionally, frequent bending, fine motor skills, sitting, walking, occasional climbing, repetitive motion, driving, kneeling, reaching, smelling, squatting, standing. Vision abilities required include color vision, depth perception, far vision, near vision, and peripheral vision. Exposure to airborne contaminants, pathogens, bodily fluids, electrical hazards, moving mechanical parts, non-weather related heat or cold, slippery surfaces, toxic or caustic chemicals, and variable weather conditions.
