Job Title: Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW)

Location: New York, NY 10016 & Bronx, NY 10467

Schedule: 35 hours/week | 7 hours/day | 5 days/week

Shift Details: Rotating shifts between 8:00 AM – 10:00 PM, including weekends. Option for 8- or 10-hour shifts.

Position Summary:

A healthcare facility is seeking a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) with hospital experience to join the Adult Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program (Psych ED). The LMSW will play a vital role in discharge planning and support triage evaluations for patients with complex psychiatric and social needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide discharge planning for patients treated and released from the psychiatric emergency department

  • Participate in triage/evaluation of patients presenting with complex psychosocial issues

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to assess and support patient care

  • Deliver crisis intervention and coordinate appropriate aftercare services

  • Document all services accurately and in a timely manner

Required Skills & Experience:
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW)

  • Hospital-based social work experience is required

  • Strong clinical judgment, crisis management, and communication skills

Licensure & Education:
  • Valid LMSW license issued by the New York State Education Department (NYSED) – Required

  • Primary Source Verification – Required
