Notre Dame Mission Volunteers develops leaders through education and compassionate service that sparks confidence to learn and agency to transform disenfranchised communities. NDMVA members in Atlanta provide direct in-person service at schools, community centers and non-profits. All positions are designed to provide academic assistance for grades K-12 or to provide adult education in the form of literacy classes, job readiness or job training. Responsibilities may include : Planning and preparing for afterschool program and summer camp activities Attending programs and helping with activities, including conducting one-on-one check-ins and assisting high school students with homework and college preparation Plan and lead group sessions and classes Provide small group supportive sessions supporting English language learning and workforce skills education Work with lead instructor to plan and deliver daily classes with curricula focused on basic through intermediate language learning, digital literacy skills, workforce and job readiness skills, and integrated life skills Deliver group classes of 5-10 people and workshops on financial literacy topics such as banking, budgeting, credit building, managing debt, and taxes Assist in recruiting and training 25+ volunteers to tutor and mentor elementary youth in after school Benefits of AmeriCorps service The benefits of service include: Living allowance during service Segal Education Award upon successful completion of service Health care benefits Possible forbearance or deferment of qualified student loans Child care benefits, if you qualify Personal and Professional development opportunities Being a part of a dedicated service team Minimum Requirements Applicants must be a U.S. citizen, national or lawful permanent resident at least 18 or older and have a high school diploma or GED.
